With one of my favorite albums of 2016 in their discography, it might be a little difficult to contain my excitement for this next giveaway. Viet Cong first formed in 2012 from a variety of prior projects/bands, but after releasing their self-titled debut record last year, a few things have changed. The band has moved onwards and upwards with a new name, Preoccupations (did that clear the confusion for you like it did for me earlier this year?) In addition to a new name for the band, the quartet released a new album last month that’s self-titled as well – but the distinctive blend that makes them so unique is still there in full force. All I can say is – give these guys a listen and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s safe to say I dedicated the entire weekend after the album was out to absorbing every bit of the 38-minute adventure.
Preoccupations will be headlining the Roxy Theatre this Friday presented by Goldenvoice & FYF – and Let Your Ears Decide has 1 pair of tickets to give away to a lucky someone.
