Not to get in the way of your Friday night plans, but you need to set whatever you’re doing aside and listen to Clean Spill, a band from Santa Barbara that grabbed my attention by the horns upon first listen. Earlier this year they opened up for hometown favorites Gardens & Villa at SOhO & snagged a spot earlier this week at Bardot’s weekly It’s A School Night (which remains as one of the best intimate spots to discover newish acts in LA.) Clean Spill is not entirely new to the scene – the band started in 2013 & released their first EP, XO last year. Yesterday Pure Volume premiered “Come Around” which made its proper debut with the release of the band’s lead single “Sid.” Both tracks wreak pleasantly of nostalgia, the kind that makes you want to live in the moment/song and sparks anxiety when the end approaches. This a perfect example of why the repeat button exists. Get ready to fall head over high tops for these guys and yes, their music is available on iTunes. Adding their tunes to your collection will be the best decision you’ve made all day, especially for a Friday.
