Not much else to say besides this music video captures the essence of one of my favorite bands since I could remember in an element that couldn’t be any more on-point (or off in this case) for Modest Mouse. I mean, the last time I saw Modest Mouse (at the beautiful Vina Robles Amphitheatre), Issac Brock performed in ass-less chaps worn over his baggy pants while the rest of the band continued to perform inattentive to Brock’s behavior.

There will always be an individual or seven trying to find the meaning or the underlying tone that’s supposed to be world-changing when a music video is released, but if you’re trying to do that with “The Ground Walks, With Time in A Box” don’t waste your time, just enjoy the ride. (Side note: It’s my favorite track from MM’s March full-length release Strangers To Ourselves, so needless to say I’ve been waiting for a visual piece to accompany it.) I can’t think of a better way to display how this song makes me feel, then to watch the video itself.

Now excuse me while I watch this beautiful mess for the 17th time.
